Gretchen James (she/her) is a Project Manager at Valley Vision, supporting the Clean Air & Climate impact area through several projects and the Leadership & Civic Engagement impact area through the We Prosper Together initiative. Before joining Valley Vision in March 2024, Gretchen served as a CivicSpark Fellow and Associate Analyst in Yolo County’s Sustainability Division, where she focused on community and farmworker engagement to inform the County’s 2030 Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Environmental Studies, with a minor in Film, TV and Media Studies. 

Gretchen’s passions lie at the intersections of ecological health, climate, social systems, and justice. She believes in a collective responsibility and an empathetic, holistic approach to caring for the earth and its communities, supporting safe spaces where all life can flourish.
